Nativity Scene 2019 in St Peter's Square

The Christmas Tree and the Nativity Scene placed in the front of the St Peter's Square, are linked by the common memory of the storm of October-November 2018, which devastated the north East part of Italy.

For this reason the Nativity Scene is made almost entirely of wood coming from that part of Italy.

The wooden statues are 120 cm high and are entirely carved by hand. The Holy Family will find hospitality in a nineteenth-century Gothic inspired structure.

The tree and Nativity Scene will remain displayed until the end of the Christmas Season, which coincides with the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord, Sunday, January 12, 2020.
