Pope's blessing from hospitalization

Pope Francis sent His Sunday blessing from the balcony of the Hospital this morning where he is recovering after intestinal surgery.

The Vatican says the Pope’s recovery has been going well since his surgery last Sunday.

From the balcony of a 10th floor overlooking the crowds below, he appeared with children who are being cared for there and recalled the need for our prayers and support for them.

This is the second time that a Pope looks out from the balconies of this Vatican hospital. The first was our beloved Pope John Paul II

The Pope expressed his joy at being able to keep the weekly Sunday Angelus appointment today and noted his profound gratitude to all, saying “I have deeply felt your closeness and the support of your prayers. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!”
